Moeckel Carbonell Project Portfolio - Recitation Hall, University of Delaware

*Recitation Hall / Annex Renovations* This project, which was initiated by a feasibility study in 1990, consists of the renovation of Recitation Hall, a 22,000 s.f. building designed by noted architect Frank Furness, and the Annex a 3,000 s.f. building adjacent to Recitation Hall, both of which house Art Department programs.
This project is proceeding in several phases, the first of which, Schematic Design, is complete. Subsequent phases will include, 1) a Feasibility Study for the historic reconstruction of the buildings, 2) Design Development through Construction Administration for the balance of the project.
*Taylor Gymnasium Renovation* An outgrowth of the feasibility study for Recitation Hall, this building, also housing Art Department programs, is currently under construction. Housing the Photography, Fibers and Applied Photography programs, the facility required state-of-the-art design for computerized equipment and a mechanical system which would conform to codes and student safety requirements in these chemistry intensive programs.
