Wilmington News Journal Lobby

The Wilmington News Journal Lobby expansion consists of an approximately 12,000 sq. ft. addition and limited renovations to the existing News Journal Company building. This project was designed to meet the client's need for a new, "signature" entrance to the existing building and additional programming space. These new spaces include a new meeting room and support areas, cashier and credit union offices, a new security room, publisher's office and conference room. The entry was designed to stand-out from the original building and is constructed of decorative concrete masonry units and white metal panels. A dramatic, cantilevered glass window-wall and a freestanding pylon featuring the News Journal logo, work together as the signature pieces marking the new entrance. The window wall forms two sides of a two-story atrium just beyond the entry, overlooked by the stairs and upper lobby.
